Bitters, Shrubs and Syrups with Owl & Whale SOLD OUT
Location: Vena's Fizz House
Learn how to make popular bitters, shrubs and syrups at home (or at your bar) from experts Owl & Whale. They'll walk you through the history of why we started putting bitters in our drinks, the preservation behind shrubs and how syrups can enhance your cocktail-game.

You'll taste a variety of Owl & Whale's products (in some of their favorite cocktails) and be provided recipes to make your own modifiers at home.

Classic Tiki Seminar with Phoebe Esmon & Christian Gaal (Philadelphia) SOLD OUT
Location: Hugo's Restaurant
Learn the techniques, and industry secrets, behind making tiki cocktails. Spend two hours with two of the country's best tiki bartenders Phoebe Esmon and Christian Gaal, of The Yachtsman in Philadelphia, as they teach you how to make (and drink) classic tiki cocktails.

The event will include four tiki drinks, food provided by Eventide Oyster Co and recipe cards so you can get tiki at home.

In this two-hour class you'll learn about the history of the cocktail and cocktail books from two experts in the field: Don Lindgren, owner of Rabelais one of the premier cookbook shops in the world, and John Myers, bartender at The Portland Hunt + Alpine Club. They will take you through the history of the cocktail as it pertains to cocktail books and cocktail ephemera.

Enjoy four cocktails, from different eras, and snacks during this educational and fascinating seminar.

Learn the techniques of great cocktail making from award-winning bartender Jeffrey Morgenthaler, bar manager of Clyde Common (2014 winner of 'Best Hotel Bar in America' by Tales of the Cocktail & 2015 James Beard semi-finalist for 'Outstanding Bar Program') and Pépé Le Moko (Named one of the "5 Best New Cocktail Bars in America" by Bon Appétit).

During this two hour class Jeffrey will show you techniques directly from his award-winning cocktail book The Bar Book, to help you become a better bartender whether you bartend professionally or at home. You will also get to taste four cocktails and snacks will be provided. Learn from one of America's most well-know and loved bar professionals.

USBG Bartending Competition
Location: East Ender
Watch 10 USBG members compete to be crowned the “Best Bartender” in Maine. There will be two round of judging: one based off a drink the judges ‘call’ and one based off the bartender’s own original cocktail. Judges will then decide the winner based off technique, interaction with judge’s and original cocktail.
